Some Facts About a Litecast Ethernet Connection:
Litecast Does Not Oversubscribe
- Litecast does not oversubscribe our bandwidth. Typically, internet companies will buy a connection and resell the same connection 100 or 1000 times. The hope is that not everyone will use the same internet connection at the same time. We have all experienced slower internet speeds at certain times of day as a result of this over subscription.
- Litecast buys more internet than we sell. Litecast provides internet to mission critical customers such as Johns Hopkins who can not tolerate over subscription slowdowns. In order to satisfy those customers and you, we have surplus bandwidth.
Litecast is synchronous - the same transfer speeds for uploads and downloads.
- Everyone has seen examples of our competitors connections where they advertise speeds up to 10 mbs, but when tested those speeds only exist for downloads while upload speeds are generally around 756kbs – a fraction of the download speeds.
- When Litecast says 10, 100, or 1000 megs – we mean it for both uploads and downloads!!
